At Casita para la Vida, we believe that the right to dignified housing must be rooted in knowledge and critical thinking. Beyond our work in vulnerable communities, we actively promote spaces for learning and discussion on urbanism, public health, and social justice.
📚 Through our academic work at Universidad Iberoamericana (UNIBE), we’ve created several open-access blogs designed to engage students—and anyone interested—in rethinking the city:
🔗 Urbanism I https://urbanismouno.wordpress.com
🔗 Urbanism II https://urbanismodos.wordpress.com
🔗 Urban Sociology

These platforms explore topics such as informal settlements, spatial inequality, and participatory urban practices from a student-centered, interdisciplinary perspective.
🎙️ In July 2023, we organized the seminar “Healthy Cities for All: Learning from Informal Settlements?”, with the generous support of the DAAD and the German Embassy in Santo Domingo. The opening lecture, led by our founder Dr.-Ing. Rosaleda Reynoso Arias, sparked meaningful dialogue among planners, architects, academics, and community leaders.

This combination of fieldwork, education, and public dialogue reflects our mission: to connect grassroots action with knowledge, and to promote more inclusive and sustainable cities.
