Projekt Casita para la Vida: Menschenwürdige Lebensbedingungen für Familien mit niedrigem Einkommen

Zielsetzung des Projekts ist menschenunwürdige Lebensbedingungen in armen, ländlichen Gebiete der Dominikanischen Republik zu beheben

Casita para la vida” ist eine Initiative, um einen angemessenen Lebensraum für Familien in sozial benachteiligten ländlichen Gebieten der Dominikanischen Republik zu bauen. Viele Haushalte bestehen aus Alleinerziehende Mutter, mit mehreren Kindern. Die meisten Frauen haben keine Ausbildung gemacht und ihr Einkommen ist sehr gering und unregelmäßig. Da ihnen die benötigen finanziellen Mittel fehlen, ihr eigenes Haus instandzuhalten, werden die Häuser immer mehr verfallen. Die dadurch entstanden menschenunwürdigen Lebensbedingungen werden durch das Ersetzen der alte Holzwände und Zinkbleche durch neue, das Ersetzen des Lehmbodens durch Zementestrich, den Umbau der Latrine zur Toilette mit Anschluss an die Wasserver- und Abwasserentsorgung und Anbringen von Farben usw. beheben. Der Projekt ermöglicht es die Mütter, ein sicheres Dach, wo sie und ihre Kinder vor Witterungseinflüssen geschützt werden und mehr Platz zu haben für ihrer täglichen Tätigkeiten auszuführen.  Mit dem Partizipation der Bewohner an Bauvorhaben will die Gruppe die Akzeptanz des Projekts erhöhen.

Project "Casita para la Vida" / decent living conditions for low-income families

Objective of the project is to look for solutions to the inhumane living conditions in poor rural areas of the Dominican Republic

"Casita para la vida” is an initiative to build an adequate living space for families in deprived rural areas of the Dominican Republic. Many households consist of a single mother with several children. Most women have no education and their income is very low and irregular. Since they lack the financial resources required to repair or rebuild their own home, the houses are decaying more and more. The thus created inhumane living conditions are corrected by replacing the old wooden walls and zinc plates with new ones, replacing the clay soil by cement screed, the conversion of the latrine to the toilet with connection to the water supply and sanitation and attaching colors etc. The project allows the mothers a safe roof, where they and their children are protected from the weather and have more space to carry out their daily activities. Through participation we seek to empower residents and to increase local acceptance of such projects.
